LOGIMAT 2024 logistics trade fair in Stuttgart

Large, larger, the largest

This is how you could describe this year’s logistics trade fair in three words.

The international trade fair for intralogistics solutions closed its gates with record numbers in all significant categories. According to the organizers, 1610 exhibitors showcased their products, including over 100 innovative product premieres, to more than 67,000 industry professionals on a net exhibition space of 67,000 square meters.

In total, more than 100,000 people from the field of logistics participated, among them two representatives of the IT-Personalberatung: Manfred Wenzel, managing director, and Anita De Bellis, management consultant. We used the trade fair as an opportunity to visit our clients from the logistics sector, one of our areas of specialization.

As Manfred Wenzel puts it: “After the long years of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were all gathered at the trade fair again and couldn't help but notice that no phone call or video conference can replace a personal meeting. I was very impressed by the personal interactions and the friendly atmosphere at this trade fair.“

Anita De Bellis also seized the opportunity to gain insights into the order situation in the logistics sector and to identify prospective clients that could benefit from the IT-Personalberatung’s support.

As Anita De Bellis points out: “As with the IFO business climate index, there are still dark clouds hanging over the logistics sector. But the wind slowly changes direction and the first signs of recovery can be seen on the horizon.

But this is not the only parallel. It is worth noting that there are still companies with well-filled order books. However, these are precisely the companies which currently suffer from the shortage of qualified personnel in logistics - despite the general recession in this sector.”

This is where the IT-Personalberatung can take action by using its network, e.g. to prevent skilled personnel and executives of companies that are currently struggling from migrating abroad. It is our goal to place these experts in local companies desperately looking to fill executive and senior specialist positions to complete existing orders.

In a manner of speaking, we want to show a bit of location patriotism, which is unfortunately lacking in our society at the moment.
